Arrival Down Under

October 17, 2007, 9:00 a.m.

Well, here’s road life for you. Because of “communication errors” the two dates have swapped. We just flew from Syndey to Melbourne, which was an additionally hour and a half flight after the 14 hours from S.F. to Sydney. Although were originally scheduled to play Sydney first, then Melbourne, we now play Melbourne first, then fly back to Sydney to play, then fly back to Melbourne to fly out to Japan. Sheez, what a great start.

Upon arrival in Melbourne, we are missing the production rack that contains two strobe tuners and packs of bass strings. The band normally carries over 200 pieces of equipment, without a loss. So the situation will be evaluated. The general consensus is that someone should number the bags, and Static should have a chart with a list of all bags to check off at the baggage claim. Luckily I brought my own pedal tuner, so I’ll get by on that. But, bass strings cost $45 with the band’s discount, so this can get expensive if we need to buy strings everywhere we go. Brian changes his strings every day.
